Priscilla places 20th out of 221 at the 2008 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships

December 13th 2008, Virginia's weather at 8:30 am was cold. Not as bad as a few days before, but the ground was icy white. The trail wasn't bad, but Priscilla had to start the race with 221 other girls. Each region got their own box. We were set in the middle of the field, 110 girls on each side of Priscilla. I advised Priscilla to practice sprinting because, I didn't want her to get trapped in the middle. Or it would be difficult to make it to the front of the race. She took my advice and made her way up to the front with about 30-40 other girls. All the girls were working hard to stay in the front. Each girl had pain in their faces with each struggling push to get to the front of the pack. Priscilla's fight to the front was successful, with 20th place medal and a time of 12:23!!!
Congrats Priscilla, Blanca!!
